Up & Up Creative celebrated 5 years!

We felt so honored and loved to have roughly 60 people – clients, partners and friends – join us in celebrating the 5 Year Anniversary of Up & Up Creative. The party was held on August 18, 2016 at Next Door Glendale.

It gave our founder, Jami Fassett, a chance to thank and introduce the team.

“It’s hard to believe that 5 years ago I was just dreaming of building a business that allowed me to use my time and talents to help people and communities. I wanted to help organizations on the up and up and help them go up and up. It gives me great pleasure to introduce a team of individuals who share this passion for serving nonprofits.”

Celebrating by Giving Back

In talking as a team about how to celebrate this 5 Year milestone, we really wanted to make a $500 donation to a local nonprofit – $100 for every year in business. But selecting just one nonprofit posed a challenge. We have so many amazing nonprofit clients and there are several more that we are connected to in one way or another.

We decided that we wanted to find an organization that is currently unaffiliated with Up & Up Creative and one that really aligns with our company vision and mission. We wanted to choose a small nonprofit for whom a gift like this would make a difference. There are so many wonderful nonprofits to pick from, and it was a really great exercise as a team, doing research and making suggestions. We came up with a short list, and in the end, it was a unanimous vote for Art from Ashes who helps struggling youth heal through art. Their mission really resonated with us because they are about transformation through creativity, and that’s what we are about and that’s what we do for our clients.

In lieu of a tip jar at the bar, we prepaid the bar gratuity and welcomed guests to join us in donating to Art from Ashes as well. An additional $62.25 was raised.

We were glad that Sophia Cocas from Art from Ashes was able to join us and talk with a few interested guests about their mission and the community they serve.

Cindy Grubenhoff gave an amazing toast. Cindy has been a long-time supporter of Jami Fassett and Up & Up Creative. Cindy is a client through her role as VP of Marketing for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter, a partner and collaborator as owner of In the Know LLC, and has been come a great friend. Thanks for your kind words, Cindy!

Plus, everyone who came to raise a glass in celebration, got to take an Up & Up logo pint glass home with them.

It was a treat to have so many friends, clients and partners come out and celebrate with us, including Shelly St. John from The Auction Divas and Matt Weeden from MWD Web, just to name a few.

And here are a few more including Kathie Kramer Ryan from Arroyo Fundraising Fluency, Caren Henderson from Connect for Health Colorado, Stephanie Lang Holder from Leaffer Law Group, Michelle Barnes from Interim Leadership Solutions, Cindy Sewell Hohman from Focus on Marketing and Natalie Sullivan from the Center for ReSource Conservation.

Thanks again to all those who came, and to those who sent best wishes even though they couldn’t make it.
